Daniel J. Hostetler has been an attorney with the law firm of Logee, Hostetler, Stutzman & Lehman since 1975 practicing primarily in the areas of estate planning, trust and probate administration, taxation and tax planning, and agricultural law.
A Wayne County native, Dan attended Smithville schools and, upon graduation, obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree (cum laude) from Wittenberg University in 1970 and his Juris Doctor Degree from Duke University School of Law in 1973. Prior to joining the firm, he was a trust officer with the Huntington Bank in Columbus, Ohio from 1973 to1975.
Dan is a member of the Wayne County (president, 2004), American, Ohio and Cleveland Bar Associations, the American Agricultural Law Association, and the Wayne - Holmes Estate Planning Council.
Active in his community, Dan has served on the Wittenberg University Board of Directors, and as chapter chairman of the Wayne County Chapter of the American Red Cross and as president of the Wayne County Unit of the American Cancer Society. He has also served as a board member or officer of People to People Ministries, Wayne County Committee for Crippled Children and Adults, Wayne County Extension Advisory Committee, Smithville Ruritan Club and the Wayne County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities. In 2003, he was named Citizen of the Year by the Smithville Ruritan Club.
Dan is a frequent lecturer for professional, business and community organizations on estate planning and related issues.
